Messi on cusp to win the sixth Ballon d'or
Some widely regard him as the best player ever to dwell on planet earth, and think the likes of Pele of Brazil and Diego Maradona of Argentina cannot be compared to the Barcelona's football king, hence they call him "the GOAT".

Lionel Andres Messi has been a top player, who has consecutively been keeping his critics quiet for the past decade. He effortlessly contribute immensely to the successful outings of FC Barcelona every single time.
Before Wednesday's crunchy tie against Liverpool, a lot of talks had been going round the social media platforms with the sports fans around the world, on how Liverpool's defensive prowess, with the likes of Joe Gomez, Van Dijk, Matip and Robertson intended to subdue and confine Messi's movements with the ball on his home ground.
At the first 45 Minutes, it looked slightly like things were going according to plans for Liverpool as Messi had little or no clear-cut chance to cause havoc to Alisson Becker of Liverpool. With the only difference between the two teams on the night  being Luis Suarez's opener at the 26th minute on the clock.
Just like the paradigm, "form is temporary and class is permanent", in the second half of the game, Messi completely showed the class he belonged to on the field of play as he speedily recovered the rebound from Suarez attempt on goal from the cross bar, to put his Barcelona side 2-0 up against Liverpool at the 75th Minute.
The Barcelona superstar sealed the victory for Barcelona when he confidently and calmly converted a free-kick in the 82nd Minute by burying the ball at the back of the net, his second goal on the night as he netted his 600th career goal in all competition, which nobody but his one and only eternal rival, Christiano Ronaldo has achieved at the weekend with Juventus , becoming the only Player  in history to win the league titles in England, Spain and Italy in the process.
But with Lionel Messi scoring 44 goals and still counting before the end of the season, I seriously think his sixth Ballon d'or is already on the way.
